The firm has announced it will deliver improvement works for Warwickshire Country Cricket Club ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, at which the ground is due to be a host venue. It will also build an 18-storey mixed-use scheme next to the stadium that will include 375 apartments.
The stadium improvements are set to include a new 56,500 square foot plaza at the entrance to the ground and extra parking spaces, as well as work on lighting and landscaping.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games will feature T20 cricket as an event for the first time.
The mixed-use scheme will feature 20,000 square feet of commercial space as well as the residential scheme for client Patrizia, called The Residences. A statement from the contractor said these will be build as five concrete-framed blocks of five, seven, eight, 13 and 18 storeys.
Winvic director of Multi-room Mark Jones said: “Winvic is as comfortable delivering 18 storeys of luxury apartments for Patrizia and highways works for [Warwickshire County Cricket Club] as it is creating over 76,000 square feet of car parking and a large piazza which will be welcoming people to watch the Commonwealth Games in 18 months. We have already built a great relationship with these two new clients and we’re looking forward to exceeding their expectations.”
The scheme has a £93m gross development value, the contractor said.
